| Dr Ben Bracegirdle MB BS BSc MRCGP 2000 London Special Interests: Joint injections, Orthopaedics, Community Care and Minor Surgery. I first came to the practice as a GP in training back in 2004. Four years prior to that, I trained to be a surgeon before I decided upon a career in General practice. My surgical background has been very useful as a GP as it allows me to offer my patients a variety of minor surgical procedures and joint injection therapies. I worked in several orthopaedic hospital posts so joint problems have naturally become a special interest for me. My other special interests include palliative care for the terminally unwell patients and coordinating strategies to avoid patients being admitted to hospital. I also regularly teach the medical students who come to the practice from Southampton University for tutorials. We are lucky to also have medical students from Brighton, UCL and King's College Medical schools at Bosmere. They come and work at Bosmere at various stages of their training to learn about General Practice. I try my best to inspire them to become the GP's of tomorrow. I’m married (my wife is also a GP in a different practice) and we have a young son who has recently started school. It’s a very busy life but one that I still enjoy despite the many challenges various Governments have thrown at us. I endeavour to help maintain a high standard of medical care at Bosmere surgery for years to come. |
